DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon of planting vegetables and flowers in the Mercy Care Garden at the Lake Placid Community Garden. \nWe will come together on June 4th\, 2025 to plant our Destination Garden with vegetables and cutting flowers. The Mercy Care Garden will include a source of nutritious food and\, new this year\, a cutting garden so that Volunteers and Elders may cut and take home their personal choice of flowers to arrange and enjoy in the days following their visit.\nCome for the activity\, the exercise\, to share your gardening knowledge or for socialization and sunshine. \nPlease let us know if you are in need of transportation to this event\, or if you are a Volunteer available to provide transportation. \n  \n\n  \n

The forum will be June 18th\, 2025\, \nfrom 9:30 am – 2:00 pm at Paul Smith’s College\, 7833 NY-30\, Paul Smiths\, NY.  The all-day event will focus on the topic: \n  \nAge-Friendly \nGrowing Up\, Growing Older\, and Living Well \n  \n Keynote Presenters: \nJeanette Leardi\, Author \nAging Sideways: Changing Our Perspectives on Getting Older \n  \nGreg Olsen\, Director\, NYS Office for the Aging \nValue of Older Adults in the North Country \n  \nJulia Hotz\, Author and Journalist \nThe Connection Cure \n  \nRegistration cost is $30.00 which includes lunch.
